NMSU Astronomy Department Open House @ NMSU Campus Observatories

NMSU Astronomy Department open house to be held Friday
The NMSU Department of Astronomy will hold an observatory open house at the NMSU campus observatories located at 3415 Williams Ave. at 9 p.m. Friday, April 20. Astronomy personnel on hand will be Jason Jackiewicz and graduate assistants Kathryn Steakley and Laurel Farris.

The objects that will be observed are the Orion Nebula, the clusters in and near Taurus, a few galaxies like the Whirlpool and Sombrero, the Crab Nebula, the star Algol and the first quarter of the moon. Many other celestial objects will also be observed time permitting.

Please contact the NMSU Astronomy Department at 575-646-4438 with questions. Everyone is welcome to come and spend an evening of stargazing. Admission is free and children are especially welcome to attend.
