NMSU Astronomy Department open house set for Friday

The NMSU Astronomy Department will host its first open house of the semester at the Tombaugh Campus Observatory starting at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14. Visitors will be treated to views of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, M13 (a globular star cluster), the Ring Nebula and various constellations through the campus telescopes. The event will be hosted by faculty member Chris Churchill and graduate assistants Trevor Picard, Ali Hyder and Emma Dahl.

The NMSU campus observatories are located on 3415 Williams Ave. Please contact the NMSU Astronomy Department at 575-646-4438 with questions. Everyone is welcome to come and spend an evening of stargazing. Admission is free and children are especially welcome to attend.
