NMSU Southwest Trumpet Festival @ Music Center

Internationally-acclaimed trumpet artists gather at NMSU

On Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, Feb. 29, New Mexico State University’s Trumpet Studio will host the NMSU Southwest Trumpet Festival on the NMSU campus.

The intent of this gathering is to create an alliance of trumpet players and share knowledge that will benefit all; to help those participants achieve their goals; and understand that there is a path to success.

Guest artists include Peter Bond, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; Jacquelynn Lankford, Macon Symphony Orchestra, assistant professor of music, McNeese University; Hugo Moreno, “West Side Story”, Broadway; Marcus Flores, International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition winner; Rebecca Wilt, International Trumpet Guild Collaborative Pianist; and Justin Raines, composer, Hollywood Media Bridge, Hollywood, California. Lankford, Moreno, Flores and Raines are NMSU alumni.

This event is open to all trumpet players young and old.

Registration for the event will begin at 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at the NMSU Music Center. Events will begin at 5 p.m. with concerts at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 and Feb. 29. Concerts are free; participation fee is $20.
