Dr. Patty Lopez


Dr. Patty Lopez, a leader in promoting women and Hispanics in computer science careers, is a senior platform applications engineer at Intel Corporation. Before joining Intel, she had a distinguished career with Hewlett Packard where she released fifty imaging products and holds seven imaging patents. Lopez is a co-founder and co-chair of Latinas in Computing and serves on a number of boards, including the Computing Research Association of Women and the NMSU Foundation. Through a program called MentorNet, she actively mentors young professionals in STEM careers. Lopez earned her bachelor’s, masters and doctorate in computer science at New Mexico State University and is a distinguished alumna.
