Dr. Ramoncita Maestas
Dr. Ramoncita Maestas graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1977 as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry in 1978. Currently, Dr. Maestas is a family physician and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Maestas has hosted students from NMSU during their involvement in the Summer Medical Dental Early Preparation Program at the University of Washington School of Medicine. During medical school, Dr. Maestas participated in a recruitment trip to NMSU and in 1988, she was invited to present, “Preparing for the Next Century: Minority Education,” at the Fifteenth Anniversary of the Minority Biomedical Support Program at NMSU.
