A&S Degree Certification

The degree certifiers, in collaboration with the departments in the College of Arts & Sciences, ensure degree requirements under your catalog year are met according to NMSU’s academic guidelines. Record Specialists work with students whose majors, supplemental majors, or minors are in the College of Arts & Sciences to facilitate proper recording of academic progress toward degree certification. The STAR audit is the principal tool by which degree requirements are confirmed and degrees are certified by Record Specialists. For assistance with semester-by-semester Academic Planning, contact your departmental academic advisor before enrolling in classes.

Degree Application for Graduation

All undergraduate and graduate students must submit their degree application online through myNMSU. Students are advised to complete a final STAR degree audit and verify with an academic adviser that all requirements are in progress, before submission of application. The application deadlines are not flexible and late applications will not be accepted. Please see the Commencement page for more information on degree applications, related deadlines, and participation in the commencement ceremony.

The online degree application requires that the major, supplemental major or minor and catalog year be current on Banner. To update, please submit a Change or Declare a major, Minor or Supplemental Major form on-line.
